About Dr. Hickman

I am a psychoanalyst and licensed clinical psychologist. I have been in private practice since 2008, though I have been working primarily with adults for over 20 years.

I earned my certificate in psychoanalysis from the Brookhaven Institute (BIPACT). A certificate in psychoanalysis requires additional clinical training, involving coursework, supervision, and personal analysis, beyond my doctoral training. I am also currently enrolled at the Dallas Psychoanalytic Center (DPC) for additional psychoanalytic training to add to my relational psychoanalytic training.

I am the director, a faculty member, and a supervising analyst at BIPACT, training candidates in psychoanalysis. In addition, I have taught course in psychoanalytic psychotherapy with the Postgraduate Program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, a cooperative training program associated with the DPC and the Dallas Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology (DSPP).
